Turkey Tail Elixir

This turkey tail mushroom elixir uses a triple extract method I learned from Arielle De Martinez (you can find her website at arielledemartinez.com along with her course offerings) and utilizes both heat and alcohol extraction to get as much of the beneficial polysaccharides into the elixir as possible. 

My favorite thing about turkey tail is its ability to support a diverse gut microbiome! This is so important during pregnancy/breastfeeding as mama's gut directly affects baby's. Gut health is also important in all stages of life, as we know that immune function begins in the gut. 

Immune modulation - can bring an overactive or under active immune system back into balance

Liver protection - can protect the liver against oxidative stress and damage

Antiviral properties - has been shown to help keep viruses like HSV, HPV, EBV, dormant or drastically reduce frequency of flares. Turkey tail has antiviral properties that help support the body in fighting viral infections like influenza as well.

Gut support - Some research suggests that turkey tail can build back beneficial gut bacteria better than a probiotic can because it is rich in prebiotics. Prebiotics are like the fuel or food for beneficial gut bacteria, which is so important to consider when you are working on gut health and building back a diverse gut microbiome after antibiotic use or infection.
